Wilma (now named Lucy)...
Last year Animal Control was called to the local Wal-Mart where a citizen had found a very young puppy wandering around the parking lot. Further investigation revealed that a few people had seen someone trying to sell this puppy and her littermate, saying they needed the money to buy groceries for their family. We can only assume that this person left this puppy in the parking lot after selling her brother but not her.
Of course we agreed to take this puppy. How anyone could abandon a defenseless puppy in a parking lot is inconceivable.
We named her Wilma and spoiled her rotten! We wormed her and got her on healthy puppy food and she became an active, healthy puppy.
When Wilma was finally adopted it was bittersweet for all of us. We kissed her goodbye knowing this was a wonderful family and a great opportunity for Wilma to get the forever home that she deserved.
That was almost a year ago. Since then Wilma has continued to grow and flourish in her new home. Her new owners give us updates periodically and send pictures. As we approach Wilma's first Birthday, we wanted to share her story with you and let you see how well she's doing.
Now named Lucy, our little Wilma has become a beautiful girl! Click on the pictures of Lucy to see how she's grown over the past year.
